Last year I found myself walking around Peccioli discovering narrow alleys, shadowed corners, and passages waiting to be found. This corner struck me every time I walked past. Low light, slightly hidden, a place where some people have to bow their heads to pass through. So I felt inspired to create something that would ‘connect’ this corner to the rest of the town.
The artwork connects two walls that meet at a corner in a secluded part of the village. Through reflection, the corner shifts from a physical boundary into a point of connection, bringing together the surrounding space and the presence of visitors. From one precise viewpoint, the work reveals a form that seems to exist independently of the architecture.
The installation also creates a dialogue with Passaggio Specchiante at Palazzo Pescatori, linking two distant locations within the village. In doing so, it draws attention to overlooked spaces and suggests new relationships between centre and periphery, architecture and people.
The work was donated to Fondazione PeccioliPer and is now part of the permanent MACCA collection in Peccioli.
